Telepizza, the biggest non-US pizza delivery company by number of stores, has announced that will open his first restauran in Iran in March 2017. They will operate via a strategic master franchise alliance with its partner Momenin Investment Group and they are planning to open 200 stores in 10 years. MIG could invest around 100 million euros over the period.
The first store will be opened in the capital, Tehran, after which they plan to open other 19 before the end of the year. “We are very satisfied to have found a travel companion like Momenin Investment Group to our venture in Iran . We will be the first European chain in the QSR segment to set up in this country” states the italian Giorgio Minardi , International Chairman of Telepizza.
According to the data they have, the spending in restaurants in Iran from 2005 to 2012 has grown 120 % and one third of it is in Fast Food restaurants.
“Local competency does not offer good quality”, noted one of the partners of the iranian group that will manage the master franchise, Hadi Momenin, who underlined that Iran has many similarities to Spain at the time of consuming and food and that it is a great time for foreign inverstors, specially for Europeans.
