Ramsar

Ramsar is a city is in Mazandaran Province. Natives speak the Gilaki language which is a member of Northwest-Iranian languages. The town is known for having some of the highest levels of natural background radiation on Earth. Ramsar consists of a mountainous region and foothills. Its mountainous region includes Alborz Mountain Range, which is covered with thick forests and meadows. It borders the Caspian Sea to the north, Gilan province to the west, Qazvin Province to the south, and Tonekabon to the east.

Ramsar is a popular sea resort for Iranian tourists. The town also offers hot springs, the green forests of the Alborz Mountains, thevacation palace of the last Shah, and the Hotel Ramsar. Twenty-seven kilometres south of Ramsar and 2700 meters above sea level in the Alborz mountains is Javaher Deh village, which is an important tourist attraction in Ramsar County.

The city of Ramsar maintains a moderate climate, and uniquely beautiful regions. The people of this city are very hospitable, warm, and kind. The proximity of the mountains and the sea in Ramsar region adds to the natural beauties of this city, while also impacting the humidity and temperature of this city. Hence, this city is one of the coolest cities of northern Iran throughout warm summer days; hosting many passengers from different Iranian cities and even neighboring countries.
